PhoSul provides a natural process to make continuous release phosphate fertilizer. The PhoSul granules should be incorporated in the soil at seeding or surface spread, as granules, or in blends, to provide vital phosphate for plant growth.

Phosphorus is essential for all major metabolic processes in plant growth and development. The low availability of phosphorus in the soil can make it a limiting element of plant growth in natural ecosystems.

Many phosphorus fertilizers available today are made from mining and chemical processing of mineral phosphate ore, like fluorapatite. The current chemical process involves releasing undesirable contaminants into gas streams, by-product streams, and soluble phosphate products. Thus, pollution is a substantial cost to the phosphate fertilizer industry.

PhoSul, however, offers a more sustainable, efficient and non-polluting manufacturing method for phosphate fertilizer production.

At the mine, for example, but not limited to:

  • No ‘cut off’ grade for magnesium (Mg)
  • A higher ‘cut off’ grade for cadmium (Cd)
  • No phosphate losses

At manufacturing, for example:

  • No gypsum waste stack
  • No phosphate losses
  • No fluoride emissions
  • No corrosion

PhoSul will provide a composition and method for supplying phosphate fertilizer to plants while generating it in a way that avoids pollution, and most efficiently utilizes earth's finite phosphorus resources.
